Happy World Meteorological Day on 23 March.
Despite the challenges and constraints of the Coronavirus pandemic, national meteorological and hydrological services continue to operate 24/7 to protect lives and property. We will celebrate their work today on World Meteorological Day on 23 March.
The theme this year is Climate and Water and we are twinning with UN-Water and World Water Day (22 March) to highlight the impact of climate change on present and future water resources.
The world now faces increasing challenges posed by water stress, floods and droughts and lack of access to clean supplies. There is an urgent need to improve forecasting, monitoring and management of water supplies and to tackle the problem of too much, too little or too polluted water.
Count every drop. Because every drop counts.
